Imitația facială și orală

Imitația este o componentă esențială în intervenția comportamentală, datorită contribuției acesteia la dezvoltarea limbajului, interacțiunii sociale și jocului.

Majoritatea manualelor de programe ABA plasează imitația facială și orală ca preachiziție a comportamentului echoic (Lovaas, 2003; Maurice, Green, & Luce, 1996). În plus, există suficient de multe studii care indică imitația facială, orală și motorie ca predictor al abilităților vocale ulterioare în autism (Stone, Ousley, & Littleford, 1997; Gernsbacher, Sauer, Geye, Schweigert, 2008; Luyster, Kadlec, Carter, & Tager-Flusberg, 2008; Stone & Yoder, 2001).
